  3. Style. Reality Testing focuses on "dusty hip-hop grooves of auteurs like J Dilla and Madlib". A review in Pitchfork referred to the album as "Largely abandoning rave’s warp-speed tempos and sensual overload" of Galaxy Garden.. Release. The album was released on R&S Records on 16 June on vinyl record and compact disc.. Also reissued by R&S Records on 7 December Genre: Electronic, instrumental hip hop, house.

  4. Cameron Favorite Lone album. Lone once again shows his musical versatility with Reality Testing. Such a great trip through hip-hop, house, and electronic in general. So many great calm moments like Jaded, Begin to Begin, Stuck, Cutched Under, not to mention the end of 2 is 8 is cloud nine. I can't pick a favorite track.

  5. All the same, Reality Testing remains a fitting testament to Lone’s deft-handedness. His dance credentials already assured, this feels like Cutler reasserting his artistry; an exercise in expressive revivalism, where myriad influences are sketched from memory; an album whose headline proposition is new, despite the ageing origins of its Author: David Welsh.

  6. It’s hard to believe that Reality Testing is the sixth album from Manchester-based producer Lone, but his has been a quiet and steady ascent. Following on from the continued success of his relationship with R&S Records, this year he dropped Reality Testing - its title referring to the process of distinguishing the internal world of emotions.
