1. The Beatles devised, wrote and directed a television film called Magical Mystery Tour which was broadcast on BBC Television at Christmas, Even before Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, had hit the shops, the idea of the programme had been born and work had commenced on the title track.

3. Aug 24,  · I had an older, late 70's pressing of this and was looking forward to updating it a shiny and new copy of Magical Mystery Tour. Nope. These post CD-based vinyl pressings are an abomination. I sold this terrible sounding hunk of wax within 17 hours of receiving it. If you want a good pressing of The Beatles on vinyl, either buy the Mono box /5(K).

The U.S. version of the soundtrack for the Beatles' ill-fated British television special embellished the six songs that were found on the British Magical Mystery Tour double EP with five other cuts from their singles. The psychedelic sound is very much in the vein of Sgt. Pepper's, and even spacier in parts (especially the sound collages of "I Am the Walrus")/
